Title: Open Science evolution in the Greek landscape: policies, synergies and EOSC
This presentation provides an overview of the steps followed by ATHENA Research and Innovation Center (ARC) towards the development of an Open Science community and the collective proposal for a National Open Science Plan in Greece. It presents ARC’s position and contributions in the evolving Open Science ecosystem in both European and local settings. Moreover, it informs about foundational work performed in Greece in the context of projects that integrate, promote and / or enhance Open and FAIR principles and enrich the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), namely: OpenAIRE, RDA-Europe, NI4OS-Europe and Hellenic Data Service - HELIX. Furthermore, the presentation highlights the importance of establishing collaborations across different academic and scientific stakeholders to ensure that diverse needs are accommodated and everyone’s efforts are strengthened in a participatory fashion. Hence, it updates on those collaborations and explains the current status of achievements on the key pillars of work: a. policies, b. infrastructures/ services, c. training and support. Finally, the presentation communicates next steps in ARC’s agenda relevant to the implementation of the proposal for a National Open Science Plan in Greece and the setting up of National Open Science Cloud Initiatives (NOSCIs) in support of EOSC Association governance.
